U.S. Embassy Havana hosts award ceremony for the winners of the “Sueños” photo contest

September 26, 2018 – The Public Affairs section of the U.S. Embassy Havana hosted a reception to celebrate the award ceremony for the photo contest “Sueños”. The theme of this contest was inspired on First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt’s words: The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

The reception was held at restaurant Atelier, with a showcase of the winning photos. Public Affairs officer Dale Prince welcomed the guests and presented the winners. In attendance were participants of previous contests, members of the jury and representatives from Havana’s cultural community.

Below, the contest’s winners:

  • First prize: Amorphophallus titanium by I. Alfaro
  • Second prize: Sueños by C. Núñez
  • Third Prizeshared: El viaje by C. Pérez and s/t by E. Rosselló
  • Popularity awardvoted by the Embassy Facebook followers: La Espera I by H. Leyva

Other three photos received honorable mentions: El sueño de volar es posible by G. Bianchini, Flying Machine by A. Gutierrez, and Hasta que la muerte nos reúna by F. Tomé.
