Notarial Services

Notarizing officers in the American Citizens Services Unit can provide assistance similar to the functions of a notary public in the United States.  Officers can also authenticate documents notarized by Cuban notaries for use in the United States.

To have a document notarized, you must appear in person with the following items:

  1. The document(s) to be notarized. The document must be unsigned as you will sign in front of the notarizing officer.
  2. A valid government-issued photo ID such as a passport, driver’s license, or Cuban ID card (carnet).
  3. $50 USD per notary seal. Payment must be made in U.S. dollars (USD) or corresponding amount in Cuban pesos (CUP).
  4. If your document needs to be witnessed, you must arrange your own witnesses and each must bring a valid photo ID. Consular Officers cannot serve as witnesses.
