Scope of Work for Calzada Streetcar Gate Replacement
- SUMMARY
For the renovation of this car gate, the contractor will manufacture a completely new gate, with a design like the current one.
The materials used will be metallic tubes with a square, hollow cross section, which will form the frame of the gate. It will be covered by metal sheets on the outside.
The tubes that make up the frame of the gate will be protected on the four interior faces with thick grease to prevent corrosion for a long time.
Silicone will be applied between the metal sheets and the tubes, before screwing them, then all the edges will be bevelled with silicone, inside and out to prevent the penetration of saltpeter between these two surfaces. This procedure is bilateral.
The gate will be protected with anticorrosive paint, and the final finish is with anticorrosive black paint.
The supports for sliding the gate will be 2 iron wheels with bearings in the center, just like the current ones. There will be another similar support in the upper left corner, for the insertion of the stability guide wheel.
The mechanism for opening and closing the sliding gate will be the same as the one currently used, which will be improved and adapted to the new gate.
The manufacture of the new gate will be carried out at the contractor’s facilities.
The contractor will have to visit the Embassy facilities, prior coordination, for the evaluation of the magnitude of the work, taking measures, etc.
Once the gate is finished, prior coordination with the embassy, it will be transported by the contractor and installed together with the Facilities staff.
